Furnishing

A finished building is not yet a finished home.

Furniture, textiles, art and objects decide how a house is used and how it feels. That layer is our work.

We begin with the architecture and with you. How you move through the rooms, how you entertain, where you retreat, what has to withstand daily life.

Living room, stair and the courtyard beyond.

A point of view, shaped around the home

You do not need to arrive with a fully formed idea of what the house should look like. A clear sense of how you want to live is more useful than a finished brief.

We interpret that rather than reproduce it. The aim is not a home that looks designed by us, but one that feels more specifically yours.

Furnishing that belongs to the architecture

Furniture should not feel as though it arrived after the building was finished. Scale, circulation, proportion and materiality are considered against the architecture, alongside how a chair actually feels and how a textile will perform over time.

Some rooms call for restraint, others for contrast. A contemporary space might need an older piece to find depth. The architecture sets the direction. Our point of view shapes what comes next.

Sourcing with intention

The right piece rarely comes from the most obvious place. We work across established suppliers, Australian manufacturers, custom makers, galleries, vintage finds and local artists.

There is no fixed supplier list. We source to the architecture, the client and the room, and each piece has to earn its place.

Our process

From concept to installation

We can take the whole of it, from the first conversation to the finished home.

  1. Brief & discovery

We start with the architecture and how you intend to live in it. Plans, rooms, household, budget, and the pieces you already own.

  2. Concept & material direction

We set the furnishing language of the home: furniture, colour, material, textiles, art and objects, considered together rather than one room at a time, with samples and flatlays where they help.

  3. Specification & procurement

Pieces are resolved and specified, then sourced. We handle supplier liaison, quoting, ordering and lead times, drawing on trade relationships and on how furniture is actually made.

  4. Delivery, installation & styling

We coordinate freight and installation, then bring the rooms together on site. Furniture positioned, art placed, textiles introduced, final adjustments made against the space.

Working with architects

We join a residential project once the architecture and spatial planning are substantially resolved, and develop the furnishing layer directly with the client. Our scope is clear, collaborative and independent.

Alongside the creative work we manage specification, procurement, supplier coordination, delivery, installation and final styling. The furnishing layer can be handed over rather than carried.

What it costs

It depends

Scope varies with the number of rooms, the level of custom work and the pieces required.

Ask the room is our interactive furnishing tool. It furnishes a typical living room at three levels of finish and tells you what each one costs, in Brisbane, at 2026 prices.
