The brief
A new apartment above Kirra Beach, furnished to be coastal without being "coastal".
The views do the work here, so the furnishing answers them rather than competing. Sand, surf and treeline are read back through wood tones, stone and textile, and the roof colour of the Kirra Surf Club below turns up again in the sofa fabric.
The palette is refined and a little masculine, built from a mix of timber, linen, leather and stone, with rattan and terracotta softening the edges.
