These terms govern your purchase of a Concept Consult. By booking and paying, you agree to them.
1. The service
The Concept Consult is a 90-minute advisory session with our Creative Director, covering your space, style preferences, a conceptual layout, a materials and textures palette, and a ballpark cost to achieve the outcome. It is limited to design and aesthetic advice and does not include structural, architectural, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical advice.
2. Fees and GST
The fee is $350 (inclusive of GST), less any discount code applied at checkout, and is payable in full at the time of booking.
If you engage us for a design or furnishing project within 12 months of the session, the fee is credited toward that project.
3. Before your session
To prepare, you’ll submit information about your space (including photos, measurements, and preferences) at least 48 hours before the session. You confirm this information is accurate. We are not responsible for advice affected by inaccurate or incomplete information, and the quality of the session depends on what you provide.
4. Format and location
Sessions are held in person or via video. We prefer to meet at your location, as materials and textures are best experienced in person, and travel as far north as the Sunshine Coast and as far south as Byron Bay. A travel fee applies to in-person sessions outside Brisbane.
5. Scope
The session covers at least one space; additional spaces may be discussed if time allows. After the session, we will send you a summary document containing a colour and materials scheme for the space, along with the photos and notes taken during it.
6. Cancellation and rescheduling
We are happy to work with you to accommodate changes and cancellations, because life can get complicated. We do, however, reserve the right to charge for late cancellations:
- 48 hours or more before the session: no charge.
- Within 48 hours of the session: 50% of the price.
- Within 24 hours of the session (including non-attendance): 100% of the price.
A booking can be rescheduled twice. Any further change requires the booking to be cancelled and rebooked, and that cancellation is subject to the fees above.
There are no refunds or partial refunds for late attendance or non-attendance.
7. Recordings
Any recording is made for your reference and our records. We may retain a copy. We do not send recordings, but if the session was recorded you may request a copy.
8. Advice and recommendations
Our advice is general design guidance. We do not warrant the performance, durability, or fitness for purpose of any product, finish, or supplier mentioned. Any concept or layout discussed is conceptual only and must not be used for construction or engineering purposes. If you act on our recommendations, you confirm their suitability for your needs and accept any associated risk.
9. Intellectual property
Any concepts, ideas, layouts or materials developed for or during the session are our property. This includes ideas developed together with you, whoever first suggested them, and you assign to us any rights you may have in them.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own space. You must not reproduce or apply them to other projects or locations without our written approval.
The summary document, photos and notes we send you after the session, and any recording provided on request, are for your personal use, and you may share them for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial use, including in advertising or promotion, is not permitted without our express written consent.
10. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any failure is limited to re-supplying the session or paying the cost of doing so. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Promotion
We may photograph or showcase resulting work in our portfolio and marketing unless otherwise agreed in writing.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, and any dispute must be dealt with in Queensland courts.
