Welcome to our new website and Journal
Brady Cadell on the new Cadell Collective website, why the studio specialises in furnishing and styling, and what the Journal will cover.
Welcome to our new website.
I’m Brady Cadell, founder and creative director of Cadell Collective. I’m an interior designer, and my career has been in the furnishing industry. It taught me to look at a piece from the inside: how it’s made, how it will wear, whether it suits the room and the body.
I chose to specialise in furnishing and styling, the layer between the architecture and the life lived within it. Cadell Collective is the Brisbane studio built on that choice. Once the architecture is resolved, we select, source, install and style the pieces that complete a home, shaped by how you live rather than a fixed house style.
Turn the sound on
Before you look around, turn the music on with the speaker icon at the top of the page. Like our work, the site is the sum of its parts: the sound, the changing textures and visual effects on the main page set a mood to explore Cadell Collective’s point of view and work.
The Journal
A few times a month I’ll write here about the decisions that make a home. Three threads run through it.
What’s worth your attention

New pieces, materials and ideas, and whether they will last. I’m less interested in what’s fashionable than in what will still belong in ten years: a textile that handles daily life, a material that softens with age, furniture scaled to the room.
Local designers, makers and artists

The pieces that make a home specific are often made close by. We source from local artists and makers alongside our established suppliers, and I’ll introduce you to the people whose work I will be (or want to be) showcasing in my projects.
From the studio

News, and a closer look at recent work: the brief, the decisions behind it and how the home is living now. Our projects are a good place to start, and showcase our most recent work, with more on the way soon!
In the meantime, if you’re about to complete a build or a renovation, or looking to furnish your home and not sure where to start, we’re only a phone call or a web enquiry away.
Or, if you’re ready for action but aren’t quite sure where to start, or don’t want to commit to a full project, our Concept Consult might be for you.
Thank you for being here. I’m looking forward to sharing what we’re working on, and the people we’re working with.
